16. Stained Glass Window of the Martyrdom of Saint Perfecto
Like the stained glass window opposite, this one represents the martyrdom of a priest: Perfecto. The saint, kneeling, wears priestly robes, including a prominent stole. With his arms open and gaze toward the heavens, his executioner grabs one of his arms to immobilize him while holding the knife with which he will decapitate him. An angel descends from a break in the Glory, carrying the palm of martyrdom and the victorious crown, both attributes attesting to his death for his faith in Christ.
