This canvas, always known in the temple as the Queen of Martyrs, possesses a rich iconography, presenting Mary as the Immaculate surrounded by the Martyrs of Cordoba. In the foreground are two martyred priests: Perfectus and Peter. With them, the priest Isaac and Paul on their right, along with a multitude of martyrs who gaze forward and others devoutly at Mary. The vast number of palm fronds fading into the background is striking, representing the many individuals who were martyred for their faith in Christ.
